Making outstanding music of the baroque era accessible to new young audiences.
This is the aim underlying the productions of Danya Segal. A typical reaction to her events: “I attended a concert of classical music for the first time and thought it was fabulous!” Segal brings diverse artistic traditions together in her programs to create a new work of art that can be appreciated in new ways and by different groups. ”Art is the element that binds peoples together,” explains Segal, commenting on her production “Bach und der chinesische Drache” (Bach and the Chinese Dragon), in which Chinese dancers present their traditional dances to masterpieces by Bach. In “Händel und die Unterwelt” (Händel and the Underworld) Segal presents works by the outstanding baroque composer in venues of a modern “underworld” such as underground garages or a subterranean mine.
